500 g sausage mince (or half beef half pork mince)
1 tsp garlic
2 tsp mixed herbs
2 tablespoons tomato sauce
2 tablespoons bbq sauce
1 egg
1 carrot grated (optional)
salt & pepper to taste
**breadcrumbs as required. aprox 1/2 cup??
puff pastry
sesame or poppy seeds (optional)
Preheat oven to 220 C
Combine all ingredients except breadcrumbs and mix well.
Add breadcrumbs as required, You don't want the mixture to be too wet. If you use carrot you will definitely need to add the breadcrumbs as carrot contains lots of moisture.
Cut pastry sheets in half
Place sausage mixture along one long edge of the pastry, Roll up pastry to enclose the
mince mixture. Cut into the size that you want.
Brush sausage roll tops with milk. You can also sprinkle them with sesame or poppy seeds.
Bake for around 20 minutes until golden brown.
If you want them for the party, cook them only until they are just turning brown, then at the party put them back into the oven until they are golden brown.
